At Prostoria, we believe that quality is born from knowledge, and knowledge - from work. Real work, real challenges, real collaboration and trust. No one understands this better than Mirjana Bakran, who has been working as a seamstress in our upholstery sewing department for the past thirteen years.
But Mirjana’s job isn’t just about sewing. Every Prostoria product carries its own story – and Mirjana is its quiet co-author. Working daily with a wide variety of models and fabrics, it’s crucial to read instructions with full focus, understand the design concept, and know how different textiles behave on the machine.
“A single sofa can have multiple elements, each with different dimensions and appearance, and every fabric reacts differently during sewing – you must keep all of that in mind. On top of that, I stitch every part with the assigned thread and check each piece to ensure its sewn correctly.”
After finishing secondary textile school, she began working in industrial production, where she gained her first sewing skills and developed precision by stitching straps and garment components. She further refined her knowledge at Prostoria, where her main responsibility is quality.
“At Prostoria, it’s important to react in time – if I notice an error from a previous stage, I report it immediately. Teamwork is essential, and I’m glad I can always consult with my colleagues. It also helps that my husband works in development – sometimes we even ‘untangle’ a sewing task together at home.”
Mirjana especially values the dynamic nature of the job – the constant development of new products means there’s always an opportunity to learn, to discover new techniques and solutions. Fabrics vary, models change, but her attention to detail remains constant.
“It’s interesting, challenging, and creative. With every piece, I feel a responsibility and a desire to make it perfect. I think you can see that – and feel it.”
We’re proud that Prostoria is built by people like Mirjana – precise, reliable, and devoted to quality. Her contribution may be quiet, but it’s essential: it may not be heard, but it’s seen – in every perfectly sewn seam.
